THE ROLE OF CREATIVE AND
CRITICAL THINKING IN STUDENT FORMATION
Summary. The analysis of the situation of the problem of the formation of
students' critical thinking shows that this issue is not paid enough attention
in the modern school. The students' critical thinking does not develop
purposefully, as a result, the students' ability to independently analyze
events and facts, self evaluate,
predict, make the best choice in a problematic situation, and critically
understand what is happening is not sufficiently developed. The development of
creative thinking in young students is a special process. A distinctive feature
of students' creative activity is the subjective novelty of the product. A
child's "discovery" for himself may be new and unusual, but it cannot
be creative. The development of creative thinking can be properly formed with
the guidance of teachers.
