THE VALUE OF ORGANIZING
AND CONDUCTING THE ELECTIVE COURSE
"CHEMISTRY IN
LIFE" FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF COGNITIVE INTEREST
OF SCHOOLCHILDREN
Summary. This article is devoted to the organization and conduct of the
elective course "Chemistry in life" in the secondary school, which is
valuable and necessary for development of cognitive interest of schoolchildren
in chemistry. At present time the development of the profile education at the
secondary school arouses interest to such form of educational activity as
elective courses. The elective courses on chemistry within the basic school
chemical education acquaint pupils with the substances surrounding them, their
role in human life, and how these substances are used in everyday life.
Schoolchildrens participation in the elective course "Chemistry in Human
Life" arouses their interest in chemistry, develops their creative
thinking and skills in conducting chemical experiments, helps students choose
the right specialization and gather the necessary fascinating information about
the familiar materials around them. This course has a great educational impact
on students as they use the knowledge they gain
about everyday life and
to acquire chemistry-related careers.
