TO THE DEFINITION OF THE CONCEPT "PROFESSIONAL
COMPETENCES» IN PEDAGOGICAL LITERATURE
Summary. The concept of professional competences
and its reflecting issues are analyzed in the article. Starting from the stage
when educational reforms were implemented, the requirements necessary to be
formed while performing the professional activity were examined in the
normative legal acts adopted in later periods, and the criteria considered
necessary for the teacher's activity were analyzed.In the scientific-
pedagogical literature, the ideas reflecting the issues of teacher's
professional skills and pedagogical mastery were reviewed, along with
Azerbaijani researchers, the opinions of representatives of foreign countries
related to professional competencies were studied. It is determined that the formation
of professional competence is a cyclical process, because there is a need to
constantly improve professionalism due to new conditions and requirements
arising in the process of pedagogical activity.
