THE ROLE OF THE LECTURE
IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE CONTENT
OF EDUCATION IN
PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITIES
Summary. In the pedagogical literature, the lecture is presented both as a
form of organization of education and as a method. This is natural, because a
lecture in higher education is both a form of organization and a method. In
modern times, such an idea has formed that the lecture makes students passive,
they do not show a critical attitude to the information presented by the
lecturer, they do not seek to independently acquire and assimilate knowledge.
The article explores the distinctive features of modern lectures from
traditional ones: 1) the future teacher should form an internal need for
lectures; 2) the lecture should help students to realize their inner potential,
increase efficiency, develop creative and critical thinking; 3) there should be
an emotional presentation using slides in a lecture, clarity and accuracy of
the ideas presented, scientific results should be taken into account, teachers
should effectively use a rich arsenal of methods; 4) influencing the feelings
and emotions of students, the lecture should provoke them to scientific
research, and not to imitation.
