COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF THE FORMATION OF
GENDER ROLES IN
ADOLESCENTS IN WESTERN AND EASTERN
CULTURES
Summary. There is a direct relationship between the
concept of culture and gender. Throughout human history, every society has had
a set of values, norms, and meanings related to gender roles. All societies
have role behaviors that are expected of each individual's gender roles.
While in Eastern culture adolescent boys
are given more freedom than girls, in Western culture both sexes are given
freedom. Perhaps it is not right to treat both genders equally. Because if
adolescents are different from birth according to their gender, then the treatment
given to them according to their gender should also be different.
