COURSE

Summary. The presented work is dedicated to the teaching problems of the ―Functional sequences and functional series‖ section of the Mathematical analysis course. In that section, the methods of using counterexamples are studied. Generally, counterexamples are used to demonstrate how necessary or sufficient the converse of this or that mathematical proposition or the conditions in those propositions are. Or is used when denying the truth of any proposal. Counterexamples play an important and indispensable role in mastering many basic concepts in the intended section, increasing the efficiency of training, and developing students’ creative abilities. The author believes that the use of counterexamples is also important in teaching other mathematical subjects.
