GREAT LEADER HEYDAR ALIYEV AND THE AZERBAIJAN LANGUAGE

Summary. Heydar Aliyev from the first days of coming to power took care of the preservation,

perpetuation, purification and development of the Azerbaijani language. He tried to get the status of the Azerbaijani language as the state language back in the years when we were part of the USSR. Heydar Aliyev achieved this in 1978. The Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan states that the state language in the Republic of Azerbaijan is the Azerbaijani language. The presented article tells about the language policy of Heydar Aliyev.
