THE
THEORETICAL BASIS FOR ASSESSMENT IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHING
Summary.
The purpose
of the article is to discuss new scientific-theoretical approaches and
principles in the assessment of English language knowledge and skills in higher
education. The research article focuses on the poor application of theoretical
approaches in language assessment to practice. The article examines new
perspectives in the assessment of English language knowledge and skills based
on new theoretical considerations. The researched areas allow to determine the
different levels of learning the English language and make the role of
assessment necessary.
