FEATURES OF THE VIOLATION OF HIGHER CORTICAL
FUNCTIONS
IN LOCAL BRAIN LESIONS
Summary.
Classical neurology divides the syndromes of dysfunction of the superior cortex
with local brain damage into three main groups: agnosia, apraxia and aphasia.
In addition to these disorders, there are also disorders that are more often
manifested in the form of аlexia, agraphy, acalculia, amusia. There are
clinical bases for dividing the main syndromes into agnosia, аpraxia and
aphasia. In focal lesions of the brain, cognitive, motor or speech disorders
prevail, especially in disorders of the functions of the superior cortex. In
neuralgia, agnosia is explained as retained feelings, impaired perception
against the background of emotions, and аpraxia is explained as impaired
activity against the background of the preservation of simple motor functions.
The noted violations do not manifest themselves in isolation, but, as a rule,
accompanying each other.
