Alexithymy effect of childhood trauma
Summary. The effects of childhood trauma on alexithymia are profound and multifaceted. Traumatic events in childhood often cause emotional distress, hindering a person's ability to identify and express their feelings. This emotional pressure can influence the emergence of alexithymic traits. The effects of childhood trauma on alexithymia affect interpersonal relationships and overall psychological health, and may persist into adulthood.
