THE PROBLEM OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN EMOTION AND INTELLIGENCE IN PSYCHOLOGY

 Summary. The article examines the scientific, theoretical and practical significance of the problem of interaction between emotions and intelligence in psychology. From the stage of formation of psychology to the present day, the process of studying the problem is fundamentally traced and analyzed over a wide historical period. At the same time, after the formation of the concepts “social intelligence”, “practical intelligence”, “emotional intelligence” in psychological thought, the emergence of various models of emotional intelligence, important points, general and various aspects of new approaches related to the practical significance of the interaction between cognitive and emotional-affective spheres. In the article, when analyzing the modern understanding and assessment of the problem, special attention is paid to issues that are of great importance for explaining a number of mental processes.
