Summary. First of all, the
article talks about the role and possibilities of modern literature on the
history of Azerbaijan in the development of students' cognitive activity in the
teaching of Azerbaijani history in higher schools. Scientific studies and
experience show that increasing cognitive activity is of great importance in
the teaching of Azerbaijani history lessons. During the research, it is known
that there is no specific literature prepared for the analysis of the problem
of increasing cognitive activity in the teaching of Azerbaijani history in
Higher Schools. However, even if it is not specific, this issue is brought to
the fore and highlighted in all the literatures, teaching aids and textbooks
that we have analyzed.
