Summary. The project method is a student-oriented method, which implies the need to pay attention to their needs and abilities. This learning method is based on the principles of cooperation and active participation. The use of the project method in teaching a foreign language allows students to use a foreign language as a cognitive tool, a way to express their ideas, to perceive and understand other people's ideas. This is the most efficient way to shift students' attention from form of expression to content and to introduce the surrounding world into knowledge through foreign language, thus expanding the scope of socio-cultural competence.
