MAIN PSYCHOLOGICAL FACTORS OF ADAPTATION
OF STUDENTS' PERSONALITY TO STUDYING CONDITIONS
Summary: The article notes that student life is the most important period in the
life of young people. Students are a mobile social group, the composition of
which is constantly changing. High intensity of communication is a specific
feature of students. Psychologists have characterized students as a “special
social category”, a special group of people and identified the psychological
characteristics of student age, including students’ high cognitive motivation,
social activity and social maturity. Many factors influence the academic
success of students at university. These factors include: financial situation,
level of health, age, marital status, level of preparation before entering a
university, acquisition of skills of self-organization, planning and control of
one’s own activities, forms of education, material resources of higher schools,
level of training, as well as specialization of teachers. It is noted that the
stage of intensive socialization of students and the development of higher
mental functions is constantly manifested in the general psychological plan for
the development of education at a university, and thus the necessary qualities
and social experience are formed in the process of student self-education.
