Abstract. The cerebral cortex is
evolutionarily the youngest formation in humans compared to the rest of the
brain. The cerebral cortex is of exceptional importance in the regulation of
the body’s vital functions, the implementation of complex forms of behavior, and
the development of neuropsychic functions. The higher functions of the brain
include gnosis, praxis, speech, memory, thinking, etc. Includes, according to
modern ideas, all higher functions of the brain are a functional system with a complex
hierarchical structure, a conditioned reflex in its mechanism, socio-historical
origin and development in each individual after birth and only in a social
environment, under the influence. influences the level of civilization of a
particular society, including linguistic culture.
