Abstract. The scientific article examines the motivation of students of higher educational institutions. The article argues that the nature of educational motivation and personal qualities are inherently indicators of the quality of education. The motivational factor for successful learning is no less important than intelli­gence. The scientific article also examines the motives associated with a person’s work activity and the char­acteristics of students’ activities.
