OF INITIAL PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSISTANCE IN EXTREME SITUATIONS
Abstract. Many people do not realize that primary psychological
care is an early psychosocial intervention that should be used not only in
accidents and disasters, but also after any trauma that causes sudden stress. Early
psychological intervention reduces the impact of stress and prevents long-term
traumatic stress problems. The article discusses the principles and rules of
providing psychological first aid in extreme situation. The effectiveness of
the crisis intervention approach is critical to protecting people's physical
and mental health. Because a person who can come out of a crisis healthy is at
risk of developing serious mental problems after the crisis.
