PEDAGOGICAL BASIS OF ASSESSMENT IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHING IN HIGHER SCHOOL
Abstract. The article
examines the ways of conducting assessment in the higher school, its purpose
and tasks. Emphasis is placed on the various functions of assessment as part of
the pedagogical process. The role and importance of assessment in stimulating
learning is theoretically assessed and the requirements for evaluation are
brought to attention.
