GENDER STEREOTYPES AND PROFESSIONAL CHOICE: PERSPECTIVES OF SOCIAL PSYCHOLOGY
Abstract. This article examines the influence of gender stereotypes on
professional choice from the perspective of social psychology. Various theories
and approaches are analyzed to explain how socially constructed expectations
and prejudices regarding gender roles affect individuals' career decisions.
Particular attention is paid to the mechanisms of gender stereotype formation,
their consolidation in society, and their impact on people's self-esteem and
motivation when choosing a profession.
