DISTANCE EDUCATION TECHNOLOGY AND ITS APPLICATION FEATURES
Abstract. Along with the development of methods used in the education system,
the development and application of high technologies have increased the
relevance of distance education in the modern era. Thanks to distance
education, it is possible to receive education in quite suitable conditions in
terms of time, space and financial constraints. Distance education is a
learning-teaching (student-teacher) system used when the person who wants to
receive education and the person who gives education are geographically distant.
In this case, the person who wants to learn (student) and the person who gives
education (teacher) communicate with each other using various information tools
and interaction channels. Just as books, published additional materials and
visual aids can be used in education, the creation of video-audio discs,
electronic books, cable, satellite, etc. interactive teleconferences can also
play the role of educational tools. In this case, lesson materials can cover
more students and a person who is an expert in his field can teach a larger
number of students at the same time. Through distance education, the student
can work not with the program designed by the teacher, but with a program that
is suitable and convenient for his capabilities. Distance education not only
adds communication technologies to educational institutions, but also becomes
lifelong education due to the rapid change of knowledge and information in the
modern education system. Thus, distance education can provide equal
opportunities with traditional education, which gives education a democratic
character.
