THE IMPORTANCE OF THE CREDIT ACCUMULATION AND TRANSFER SYSTEM IN ORGANIZING THE EDUCATION INFRASTRUCTURE THAT SUPPORTS LIFELONG EDUCATION

Abstract. The article examines the importance of the credit accumulation and transfer system in terms of promoting and organizing lifelong education. The first part of the article analyzes the benefits that the application of the credit system creates for education providers and learners, as well as the role of the credit system in linking non-formal and informal education with formal education. The second part of the article studies the factors that hinder the application of the credit system and the situation in Azerbaijan regarding this issue. The research methods used for this article included content analysis and semi-structured interviews with independent experts, people working in the public sector in the field of science and education, and representatives of national higher education institutions.
