STRENGTHS
AND WEAKNESSES OF COMPUTER-BASED ASSESSMENTS IN MODERN PSYCHOLOGICAL RESEARCH
Abstract. Computerized assessment
tests have created great opportunities for both developers and professionals.
They have allowed them to develop psychometrically sound tests that use
mathematical procedures and calculations so complex that in previous eras they
would have taken weeks or months to complete. This has created new
opportunities for user testing and has allowed the creation of custom tests
with built-in rating and commenting capabilities that were not previously
implemented. For many test users, computerized models of psychological
measurements have become a significant improvement, since they had to
personally conduct tests and even enter answers in another form before analysis
(using a manual calculation template or other device), which resulted in a
large loss of time on data assessment and interpretation. The article analyzes
modern computerized models of mortality with reference to foreign literature.
