THE NECESSITY OF STEAM METHODOLOGY IN BIOLOGY LESSONS

Abstract. The role of STEAM in biology education is very important because this method helps students not only acquire knowledge related to biology, but also develop problem-solving, creativity, collaboration and critical thinking. The necessity of using STEAM methodology in biology lessons is that it allows students to deeply understand and apply information, rather than simply memorize it. This approach helps students develop the skills to understand and solve real-world problems. Connecting education to the demands of the modern world: Considering the importance of 21st century skills for students' future lives, teachers integrate the development of critical thinking, creativity, communication and teamwork into STEAM instruction. These skills encourage constructive discussion and collaboration. Teachers allow students to freely investigate and experiment.
