PSYCHOPATHOLOGICAL DISORDERS ARISING IN VETERANS IN
THE POST-WAR PERIOD
Abstract. War, in addition to
being one of the disasters experienced by a number of societies, is a traumatic
event that leaves lasting negative effects on the mental state of veterans.
Veterans, unlike other groups, experience more profound traumatic effects as a
result of their active participation in combat and the constant fear of death.
Veterans are particularly at risk as individuals who have directly experienced
multiple aspects of war. The main purpose of this article is to analyze the
psychopathological disorders that arise in veterans and to study the strategies
that are effective in combating these disorders.
Key words: posttraumatic stress disorder, comorbidity, relapse, emotional freezing
