THE PEDAGOGICAL HERITAGE OF THE FOUNDER OF AZERBAIJAN PROFESSIONAL MUSIC EDUATION UZEYIR HAJIBEYLI

Abstract. Uzeyir Hajibayly (1885–1948) stands as a monumental figure in the history of Azerbaijani culture not only for his contributions to composition and opera, but also for his work as a music teacher and theorist. This article explores the pedagogical dimensions of Uzeyir Hajibayli's work, analyzes his systematic efforts towards the institutionalization of music education in Azerbaijan, his theoretical synthesis of Eastern and Western musical traditions, and his continuous role in the formation of generations of Azerbaijani musicians. Known as the father of Azerbaijani classical music, Uzeyir Hajibayly was also a pioneering educator who laid the foundation of modern national education with his first pedagogical services. The article also analyzes one of Uzeyir bey's most important, but insufficiently studied works, the textbook "Calculus Issues", and provides information about its impact on the Azerbaijani pedagogical environment.
