THE HISTORICAL ROLE OF UZEYIR HAJIBAYLY IN THE FORMATION OF MUSIC EDUCATION IN AZERBAIJAN

Abstract. The presented article highlights the exceptional services of the great composer, musicologist and public figure Uzeyir Hajibayly in the formation of musical culture and music education in Azerbaijan. His valuable ideas on the issues of school, education and teaching the native language, and the modernization of Azerbaijani education based on the example of the European education system are disclosed. The laying of the foundation of the national music school based on the synthesis of Eastern and Western musical traditions by Uzeyir bay, and the emergence of Azerbaijani music as a rich and independent heritage are presented in a generalized manner based on the study of his various articles.
