SOCIO-EMOTIONAL COMPETENCES: REQUIREMENTS OF MODERN SOCIETY 

Abstract. Looking back at history, we witness that each era has certain expectations and demands from society. In an era of rapid development of science and technology, which is becoming more and more modern day by day, it is surprising that the demand for emotional factors has increased. As a result of research, it has been found that not taking socio-emotional competencies into account results in serious problems.

When we say socio-emotional competencies, we mainly mean factors such as recognizing and managing people's emotions and feelings, creating relationships with others, developing empathy skills, etc. It would not be wrong to note that these skills play an important role in any sphere in our modern era. During observations, it has become clear that socio-emotional competencies play a positive role not only in the personal development of people. At the same time, significant differences are also reflected in the development of society. Such nuances have increased interest in socio-emotional competencies in recent times. Our society, which is becoming more and more modern day, has various skills that meet the needs of modern students. Through these skills, people can easily invest in their personal, social, and professional development. Examples of these include emotional intelligence, empathy, communication, problem-solving and decision-making, stress management, and more.
