KEY COMPETENCES AND THEIR
GROUPING
Abstract. The article
shows that there is no single agreed list of key competencies in the world.
Competencies, first of all, come from the public demand for the preparation of
citizens. Modern competencies were defined at international symposia held by
the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, as well as the
Council of Europe, and were adopted on the basis of mutual agreements. These
competencies mainly consist of the following: learning skills, search,
thinking, cooperation, initiation of activities, adaptation. Russian and
European educational trends have always been important for Azerbaijan. At the
same time, Azerbaijan, unlike others, does not abandon the concept of a
“personal approach”, the supporters of which associate it with the peculiarities
of national traditions.
