THE
MAIN STAGES OF VOCATIONAL ORIENTATION OF PUPILS AT DIFFERENT AGE PERIODS
Abstract. This article addresses one of the most pressing
issues of our time: vocational orientation. The author outlines how the process
of guiding students toward suitable careers unfolds progressively across
different age groups. She argues that the nature and implementation of
vocational guidance vary significantly across grades I–IV, V–IX, and X–XI.
According to the author, a student’s inclination toward a particular profession
reflects their genuine interest in it. The earlier students are introduced to a
variety of professions and given relevant information, the greater the
likelihood that they will make informed career choices and pursue fulfilling
professional paths in the future. The article emphasises
that every subject or homeroom teacher has a responsibility to acquaint
students with diverse fields of work and to provide comprehensive education
about various professions and specialisations. The author further asserts that
students who plan to continue their education should establish strong
connections with the professional environments in which they hope to work, and
take an active interest in the principles and practices of those professions.
