THE IMPACT OF MORAL AND SPIRITUAL VALUES ON HUMAN LIFE AND PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT: BASED ON THE VIEWS OF THINKERS
Abstract. Moral and spiritual values play a vital role in the
development of society and the formation of individuals. These values must be
instilled from childhood, with the family, school, and society working together
in this direction. Philosophers and psychologists (Erikson, Locke, Rousseau,
Dewey, Vygotsky, Freire, and others) have emphasized the importance of morality
in human development. Classical thinkers regarded moral education as the
foundation of social harmony.
Azerbaijani intellectuals and
the “Molla Nasraddin” movement sought to awaken society through enlightenment.
In literature, the images of the devil and Satan are portrayed as symbols of
immorality. A human can possess both angelic and demonic traits, but it is
morality and spirituality that elevate them. Morality and spirituality are the
foundations of human freedom, self-awareness, and perfection. According to
great individuals, love, pure ethics, and sincere spirituality are the basis of
humanity. A person who lives by moral values elevates both themselves and their
society.
