EFFECTIVE TEACHING STRATEGIES
FOR FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEACHERS TO DEVELOP WRITING SKILLS
Abstract. Writing skills in a foreign language are the main
language skills for students to express their ideas logically, fluently and
effectively in writing. The development of this skill is not limited to the
mastery of grammatical rules and vocabulary, but also requires the correct
structuring of ideas, the consistency of content and the application of a
creative approach. The formation of writing skills is a multidisciplinary
process, and in this process, students' critical thinking, planning and communication
skills are also developed. Effective writing teaching should be carried out in
stages, based on the main stages such as preparation, writing, editing,
proofreading and presentation. In the teaching process, students first get
acquainted with the topic, plan their ideas, then write the writing freely,
then edit it in terms of content and structure, correct language and grammar
errors and finally present the writing. These stages systematize the writing
process and create conditions for students to consistently develop their
writing skills. Writing skills development uses a variety of practical
strategies, such as working on model texts, a step-by-step writing process,
group work, graphic organizers and creative tasks, which enhance students'
language skills as well as their communicative and creative abilities. These
approaches strengthen students' attitudes towards language, prepare them to
express themselves more freely and confidently, and overall enable them to
learn a foreign language more effectively.
