THE ROLE OF LAK-LAK JOURNAL IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF
EDUCATION IN IRAVAN
Abstract. The socio-political and cultural changes that took place in Yerevan at
the end of the 19th century, the publishing of textbooks and books by prominent
educators in the Azerbaijani language were among the interesting events of that
period. Those publications had a positive impact on the lives of Azerbaijanis
living in Yerevan and surrounding areas.
The article talks about the struggle of "Lek-Lek", our first
Turkish-language press magazine published in Western Azerbaijan, and its
supporters for the development of education, the influence of the magazine on
the ideas of progress, freedom and democracy of that period, and the delivery
of literary thought to readers in the form of satire and humor. The activity of
the founder of the magazine, Jabbar Askarzadeh, in the environment of Yerevan,
is relevant both as a historical experience and as a factor in the enrichment
of the landscape of our pedagogical thought, and deserves to be the subject of
new researches.
Key words: Science, Azerbaijani language, Lak-Lak, West
