THE ROLE OF HISTORICAL MONUMENTS AND CRAFTSMANSHIP IN PRESERVING NATIONAL IDENTITY

Abstract. The article discusses the role of historical architectural monuments and craftsmanship in the formation of national spiritual values. It is also emphasized that craftsmanship, as a carrier of cultural heritage, has functions such as social identity, national unity, historical memory - self-expression of the people, and cultural continuity and stability in the expression of aesthetic and moral values. At the same time, the formation of a nation is justified as a result of its national spiritual values. It is explained that these values are the national code of a nation. It is brought to attention that its preservation and restoration is the most important task of humanity and a clear example of its existence. It is noted that taking advantage of the opportunities and calls in the digital world and at the same time, the ways to maintain the national pillar of our national identity in a chaotic and mixed era also go through the development and protection of historical architecture and craftsmanship.
