THE SIGNIFICANCE OF ICT IN
ADOPTING AN INDIVIDUALIZED APPROACH TO STUDENT LEARNING
Abstract. The author of the article
addresses the critical topic of individualized instruction, an essential factor
in the educational process. The author posits that an individualized approach
entails tailoring education to meet both the personal qualities and specific
needs of each student. This method considers their intellectual, emotional,
personal, and social development. Given that every student possesses unique
abilities, learning styles, habits, and paces, it is imperative for teachers to
acknowledge and accommodate these differences. An individualized approach
empowers each student to realize their full potential.
The author emphasizes
the special importance of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in
implementing this individualized approach within education. Fulfilling the
demands of personalized learning – which requires catering to each student's
unique interests, needs, and learning speed – is made possible primarily
through ICT. Integrating ICT into the learning process allows students to
access additional resources, master subjects at their own pace, and customize
their lessons, thereby aligning the educational experience with their personal
interests. This, in turn, boosts student engagement, enhances learning
outcomes, and leads to more positive academic results.
Ultimately,
the author believes that applying an individualized approach fosters motivated,
independent learners, with the support provided by ICT in this endeavour being
of paramount importance.
