IMPLEMENTATION OF CONTENT STANDARDS AND THE USE OF INTEGRATIVE APPROACHES IN TEACHING MATERIALS ABOUT THE PRIMITIVE COMMUNAL AND SLAVE-OWNING SYSTEMS IN THE 6TH GRADES OF GENERAL EDUCATION SCHOOLS
Abstract. The
article explores the role and importance of interdisciplinary integration in
the teaching process under modern globalization. The author emphasizes that the
isolation of school subjects leads to fragmentation in students’ worldview and
decreases the effectiveness of education. Integrated lessons help ensure the
holistic acquisition of knowledge and promote students’ creative and
research-oriented activities. The paper outlines the main principles of
integration, development of individual creativity, unity of educational
content, associative connections, and the principle of innovation. Using the
example of teaching Azerbaijani history in the 6th grade, the study
demonstrates the practical application of these principles and highlights the
benefits of interdisciplinary connections (particularly with general history,
mathematics, and literature). The findings conclude that integrated lessons
contribute to developing students’ systematic understanding of the world,
analytical and creative thinking, and to the effective implementation of
curriculum standards. This approach serves both cognitive and educational
purposes, enhancing students’ motivation, creativity, and cooperation skills.
