THE ROLE OF COMMUNICATION IN THE PROCESS OF MODERNIZATION AND SOCIO-PSYCHOLOGICAL CHANGES

Abstract. The article analyzes the role of the modernization process in the life of society and its impact on socio-psychological changes. The author characterizes modernization not only as technical and economic renewal, but also as a system of changes occurring in people’s ways of thinking, behavioral models, and forms of communication. The article substantiates that communication is a necessary condition of human activity and plays an important role in personality formation, the development of self-awareness, and the construction of social relations. The verbal and non-verbal aspects of communication, as well as their interrelation with social norms and mechanisms of social control, are examined in detail. As a result, from scientific-pedagogical and socio-psychological perspectives, it is argued that in the process of modernization communication serves as one of the key factors in shaping the socio-psychological structure of society.
