THE ROLE OF DEVELOPMENTAL LEARNING IN DEVELOPING INDEPENDENCE IN PRIMARY SCHOOL STUDENTS

Abstract. This article examines the organization of mathematics education in elementary grades based on developmental principles and the development of student independence in this process. It analyzes the essence of developmental education, its differences from the traditional education system, and its impact on the development of cognitive activity in primary school students. The author notes that developmental education distracts students from the passive assimilation of existing knowledge and directs them toward research activities, solving problem situations, and formulating independent conclusions. Important factors in mathematical education include the development of the concept of quantity, the gradual assimilation of the concept of numbers, the analysis of word problems, and the development of students' logical thinking during the learning of geometric material.
