ICT SOLUTIONS IN ORGANIZING DISTANCE LEARNING IN GEOGRAPHY
Abstract. The article
analyzes the opportunities and prospects of applying information and
communication technologies (ICT) in distance geography education. It examines
the functional features of online platforms used during the pandemic period and
highlights the role of interactive mapping and assessment tools in developing
students’ spatial thinking skills. The didactic potential of platforms such as
Microsoft Teams, Moodle, and Google Earth is summarized. The study also
identifies challenges related to teachers’ ICT competence, technical
infrastructure, and information security, and proposes solutions to address
these issues. The findings substantiate ways to improve the effectiveness of
distance geography teaching.
