TEACHING
AZERBAIJANI IN RUSSIAN-LANGUAGE SCHOOLS: METHODOLOGICAL APPROACHES AND
INSTRUCTIONAL PRINCIPLES
Abstract. The article explores the features of
teaching the Azerbaijani language in Russian-language schools, the challenges
encountered, and effective methodological approaches. It highlights the
presence of phonetic, lexical, grammatical, and motivational difficulties in
the teaching process and recommends applying communicative, step-by-step,
comparative, and student-centered principles to address these issues. The
article also provides practical suggestions for using visual, translation, and
game-based methods, as well as for vocabulary work, grammar instruction, and
the development of reading and writing skills. The research findings indicate
that the comprehensive and purposeful application of methodological principles
significantly contributes to the development of students’ communicative
competence in Azerbaijani and enhances their interest in learning the language.
