THE IMPACT OF SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL LEARNING ON DISCURSIVE SKILLS IN ENGLISH
Abstract. The article discusses the impact of
socio-emotional skills on discursive competences in English language teaching
in higher education and comments on the ways in which a number of
methodological techniques can be applied in this approach. In the article, English
learners and teachers will be closely acquainted with new ideas about the
existing practices of social-emotional learning. It is known that the
development of social-emotional skills in English faces several difficulties in
teaching; discursive skills are poorly developed. It is obvious that teachers
and students are content with learning English mostly from books, dictionaries,
and several tools, and they understand very little about the discursive nature
of the language. In this regard, the article presents psychological aspects and
strategies for teachers and students.
