WAYS TO ACHIEVE COMMUNICATIVE READING IN ENGLISH

Abstract. The article discusses ways to acquire communicative reading in English language teaching in secondary schools. Communicative reading in English is an active, social process aimed at the interaction among the reader, the text, and other readers. Communicative reading is an approach that serves the acquisition of the English language in communication. The application of this approach cannot be successful without knowing the principles and strategies of communicative reading of the English language in the organization of the modern educational process. It is known that traditional reading in English is based on the use of lexical principles, phonemic skills, and vocabulary according to linguistic rules. This approach forms communication very poorly in students. In this regard, the article presents ways to organize communicative reading in modern teaching of the English language in secondary schools. The article will be a comprehensive, useful source for both teachers and students in learning to read with modern methods, and will benefit them in acquiring English in a practical way.
