THE ROLE OF EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE IN THE FORMATION OF RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN STUDENTS
Abstract. Emotional intelligence encompasses students’ ability to recognize,
understand, and manage their own emotions, as well as to empathize with the
emotions of others. Studies show that students with high EI maintain academic motivation,
cope better with stress, participate more actively in group work, and behave
more appropriately in social relationships. The article also highlights that EI
in teacher-student relationships contributes to a positive classroom
environment, reduces conflict, and engages students in the lesson. This has
important and practical implications for students, teachers, and the
educational environment in general. As a result, developing emotional
intelligence not only enhances students’ academic success, but also their
long-term social relationships, leadership skills, and psychological
well-being.
