RESEARCH CONDUCTED IN THE FIELD OF FOLKLORE MATERIALS

Abstract. Folklore is a rich and fundamental source that reflects the ancient history, national thinking, and spiritual values of a people. It plays a significant role in fostering kindness, humanism, and moral qualities, while also supporting intellectual development. Azerbaijani folklore has been transmitted orally from ancient times to the present day, preserving its relevance and national spirit. Folklore genres include fairy tales, epics, legends, proverbs, and other forms, each of which is important for education and upbringing. These materials are used in textbooks to contribute to students’ moral and aesthetic education. However, in some cases, there are shortcomings such as the inappropriate level of folklore materials and a lack of sufficient questions and tasks. Overall, the proper and systematic teaching of folklore contributes to personality development and the preservation of national values.
