SOME ISSUES OF USING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN TEACHING HISTORY

Abstract. The Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On the Artificial Intelligence Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2025–2028” defines the main directions of the digital transformation of the education system and prioritizes the application of innovative technologies. In this context, the aim of the present study is to examine certain theoretical and practical aspects of the use of artificial intelligence in teaching history. Within the framework of the study, the essence and relevance of using artificial intelligence in the educational process are substantiated, its impact on the teacher’s activity is analyzed, as well as its role in increasing the effectiveness of teaching. Particular attention is paid to the development of personalized learning models, the expansion of visualization opportunities, and the creation of immersive educational environments. In addition, the study explores the impact of artificial intelligence on the development of students’ critical thinking skills, as well as their ability to analyze and interpret historical sources. At the same time, ethical, methodological, and technological risks associated with the integration of artificial intelligence technologies into the education system are considered, and ways to minimize them are summarized.
