CRITICAL THINKING AS A MECHANISM FOR THE
PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT OF THE YOUNG GENERATION
Abstract. Critical thinking
has become one of the main requirements not only for academic development, but
also for personal development for the rising generation. To achieve success in
this field, a proper methodology and systematic approach are required. The
individual's analytical thinking skills, objective and independent assessment
abilities are important factors in the formation of critical thinking. Since
the new generation lives in the age of information overload and digital
technology, it is necessary to instill in them the reliability of all
information and its evaluation according to its sources. This also necessitates
the development of personal qualities such as emotional intelligence and
self-awareness. Also, critical thinking ensures the formation of thinking based
on philosophical and logical approaches. This allows young people to have a
more adaptive and thoughtful approach to life and decision-making processes.
Cognitive and metacognitive skills, emotional intelligence and source analysis
are among the main components of the individual development mechanism. These
also increase the critical thinking and problem-solving abilities of the new
generation. To enrich and strengthen these characteristics, new research in the
field of pedagogy and psychology, the development of new teaching methods, and
practical exercises are required. Thus, the development of critical thinking
expands all aspects of the personality, creating the basis for making more
convincing and responsible decisions.
